About Lone Star
Heat Treating
Four generations of family ownership. Over 80 years of precision heat treating. One unwavering commitment to quality and craft.
Family Heritage
Built on Four Generations of Craft
Lone Star Heat Treating was founded in 1945, at a time when Houston's industrial sector was beginning its transformation into the energy capital of the world. What started as a small commercial heat treating shop has grown into one of the most capable and accredited heat treatment facilities in the country — offering normalizing, annealing, tempering, quenching, stress relieving, carburizing, and induction hardening under one roof.
For over 80 years, four generations of the same family have guided this company — investing in people, equipment, and quality systems that set us apart. We were the first commercial heat treater in the United States to achieve ISO accreditation in 1993, and we've continued to raise the bar ever since.
Today, we operate six distinct thermal processing lines out of our Houston facility, serving aerospace, defense, energy, and general industrial customers with the same dedication to craft that defined us from day one.

58ft Furnace Line at Liberty Plant
Expanded operations with a 58-foot furnace line at the Liberty plant, adding massive capacity for large-scale heat treating.
Expert Guidance
Two On-Site Metallurgists
Not every heat treater has metallurgists on staff. We have two. Our metallurgists are available to consult with you on specifications, material selection, and process design — before the first part enters a furnace.
Whether you need help interpreting a specification, selecting the right thermal process for a new alloy, or troubleshooting an existing application, our metallurgists provide the technical depth that gives customers confidence.
Technical Consultation
Specification review, material selection guidance, and process recommendations
Quality Assurance
Metallurgical analysis, failure investigation, and compliance verification
